Iyabo Obasanjo Quits APC Over Party Tensions
Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has announced her exit from the All Progressives Congress, citing dissatisfaction with her experience in the party’s Ogun State structure.
She said her decision followed repeated issues with how she was treated within the party.
She explained that she had faced persistent disregard from key figures in the state chapter, adding that her contributions and presence were not properly recognised.
According to her, the situation made it difficult to continue her involvement in the party.
Her resignation adds to ongoing tensions within the APC in Ogun State, where internal disagreements and leadership struggles have continued to surface.
Party members in the state have yet to publicly respond to her departure.
Iyabo Obasanjo’s exit marks another notable political shift in Ogun politics, as attention now turns to how the party will manage internal unity ahead of future elections.
