FG Launches Airport Chapel Project
In Nigeria, the Federal Government and the Christian Association of Nigeria have flagged off the construction of a N25 billion ecumenical chapel and pilgrimage centre.
The project is located at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and is aimed at serving travellers and faith-based activities.
The initiative marks a new step in integrating religious facilities into public infrastructure, with the centre expected to cater to Christian worshippers and pilgrims passing through the airport.
Officials say it will provide a dedicated space for prayer, reflection and spiritual support.
The project also reflects ongoing collaboration between government and religious bodies in developing support services for citizens.
It is expected to boost religious tourism and offer convenience for travellers engaging in faith-related journeys.
Authorities noted that the facility would be built to modern standards and contribute to the overall development of airport infrastructure while meeting the spiritual needs of users.
