FG Starts Third South Africa Evacuation Today
The Federal Government has confirmed that another evacuation flight carrying Nigerians who chose to return from South Africa will arrive in Lagos on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The flight is part of the ongoing voluntary return programme for citizens abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Air Peace flight will leave Johannesburg at midnight on Thursday with 271 passengers. It is expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 5:30 a.m.
Officials said the latest operation continues the government’s efforts to support Nigerians willing to come back home from South Africa. The programme has already recorded two successful evacuation flights.
With this new batch of returnees, more Nigerians are expected to complete their journey back under the voluntary repatriation exercise, as the government continues to coordinate the process.
