A political support group loyal to Seyi Makinde has called on allies of Nyesom Wike to return to the mainstream leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The group, known as the Seyi Makinde Disciples, said the party remains open to reconciliation as efforts continue to resolve the lingering leadership crisis.

Speaking in Lagos, the convener of the group, Laja Adeoye, urged members of the factional caretaker committee led by Mohammed Abdurahman and Samuel Nwanyanwu to embrace peace and reintegrate into the party structure recognised by its constitution.

Adeoye said the recent ruling of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria had encouraged party leaders to intensify reconciliation efforts within the PDP.

He added that unity among party leaders, including Makinde and Bala Mohammed, would help reposition the party and strengthen its chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

PDP should forget partaking in the 2027 general election. Wike is holding it down for his boss Tinubu as he promised.
