Imo Police Assures INEC Of Maximum Security Ahead Of Poll
The Imo State Police Command has assured the Independent National Electoral Commission of full security support ahead of upcoming elections.
Commissioner of Police Audu Garba Bosso gave the assurance during a meeting with the state’s INEC leadership in Owerri.
Bosso said the command was prepared to protect election officials, voting materials and INEC facilities throughout the electoral process.
He added that patrols and other security measures would be strengthened to maintain order before, during and after the polls.
The police chief also urged residents to support security efforts by sharing useful information.
He stressed that public cooperation would help create a peaceful atmosphere and strengthen confidence in the electoral process.
Imo Resident Electoral Commissioner Chukwuemeka Christopher welcomed the commitment and praised the police for past support during elections.
He appealed for continued cooperation, noting that strong security remains vital for credible and peaceful polls in the state.
