Obi’s Aide Criticizes Tinubu’s Aide On Hunger Remarks
A spokesman for Peter Obi has criticised presidential aide Bayo Onanuga over remarks suggesting that the level of hunger often reported by Nigerians is not widely visible.
The comments have added to the growing debate over the country’s economic situation.
Speaking on a television programme, Idris Zekeri Jr. of Peter Obi Media Reach said many Nigerians were struggling with rising hardship, food shortages and insecurity.
He argued that public concerns should not be dismissed by government officials.
Zekeri maintained that hunger remains a serious challenge across the country, with millions of citizens reportedly affected.
He linked the situation to broader economic difficulties facing households in different parts of Nigeria.
He urged public office holders to recognise the scale of the challenges confronting citizens and focus on addressing them.
The remarks followed recent comments by Onanuga defending the impact of government policies.
