Marketers Confirms Receipt Of Fuel Import Rights
Petroleum marketers have confirmed receiving fresh import licences from the Federal Government for the third quarter of 2026.
The approvals, issued through the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, are aimed at keeping fuel supplies steady across the country.
Industry sources said several major downstream operators have already obtained their permits.
Beneficiaries include companies such as AA Rano, AYM Shafa, Matrix Energy, Pinnacle Oil and NIPCO.
The approvals followed concerns about fuel stock levels and lower petrol output from the Dangote Refinery.
Authorities are seeking to balance local refining with imports to prevent shortages in the months ahead.
Reports indicate that some firms received large allocations for petrol imports between July and September.
The move signals the government’s continued effort to ensure nationwide product availability while reforms in the downstream sector continue.
