killers are not Beyond Reach, Govt Must Act
In Nigeria, former Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria president Felix Omobude has raised alarm over rising insecurity, especially in Plateau, Benue and other troubled areas, where killings continue to spark fear among citizens.
He spoke amid growing hardship and political tension ahead of the 2027 elections, warning that lives and safety must come first.
He said the persistent attacks show a failure to bring offenders to justice, stressing that those behind the violence are not beyond the reach of the law.
He called on the government to act faster and strengthen intelligence, noting that the situation has dragged on for years without clear results.
Omobude urged leaders to stop focusing on politics while citizens face daily threats, adding that security should be the top duty of any government.
He also backed state policing, arguing that local forces would better understand their environment and respond quickly to threats.
He added that tackling insecurity requires better funding of security agencies, improved data systems, and cooperation from local communities.
He maintained that with firm action and accountability, the country can restore safety and rebuild public trust.
