Otti Unveils Two Newly Acquired Aircraft
Abia State Governor Alex Otti on Thursday presented two newly acquired Boeing 737-800NG aircraft belonging to United Nigeria Airlines.
The aircraft were named in honour of two prominent figures, the late writer Chinua Achebe and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe.
The unveiling took place during a formal event attended by government officials, aviation stakeholders and representatives of the airline.
The ceremony was part of the airline’s effort to celebrate Nigerian cultural and traditional icons through its aircraft naming tradition.
The two aircraft are part of the Boeing 737-800NG series recently added to the airline’s fleet.
Officials said the addition is expected to strengthen operations and improve passenger capacity on domestic and regional routes.
The move was widely received as a symbolic gesture that connects Nigeria’s aviation growth with its cultural heritage, as the airline continues to expand its presence in the country’s aviation sector.
