Nigerian Airport Parking Fees Increases Significantly
In Lagos, authorities at the international airport have raised parking charges, affecting motorists, transport operators and travellers using the facility.
The new rates were introduced recently as part of an updated pricing structure aimed at managing traffic and space within the airport environment.
Under the revised system, private vehicles are now required to pay ₦4,000 per hour, marking a sharp increase from previous fees.
The changes also extend to larger vehicles, with buses now charged ₦20,000, placing additional financial pressure on commercial transport operators.
For those leaving vehicles overnight, the cost has been fixed at ₦50,000, making long stays at the airport considerably more expensive.
The adjustment is expected to influence how travellers plan drop-offs, pick-ups and extended parking at the facility.
The move is likely to draw mixed reactions, as users weigh the need for improved order at the airport against the rising cost of access.
Many passengers and drivers may now seek alternative arrangements to avoid the higher fees.
