Nnamdi Azikiwe University Declares Vacancy for Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced that the position of Vice-Chancellor will become vacant on November 19, 2025. In line with the Universities Miscellaneous Provisions Act, the council is inviting applications from distinguished professors with proven experience in teaching, research, and administration.

According to the notice, eligible candidates must hold a good first degree, master’s, and a PhD, with at least nine years’ experience as a professor in a recognized university. Applicants are expected to be persons of integrity, visionary leaders, and capable administrators who can foster academic excellence and unity within the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor, as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer, will oversee the institution’s governance, finance, academic programmes, and student discipline. The appointment is for a single five-year term.

Interested candidates are to submit their applications to the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Chinonye Gloria Okeke, within six weeks of the advertisement’s publication.
