PDP Candidate Oloyede Raises Concerns On Voters Suppression, Intimidation
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the Ekiti election, Wole Oloyede, has expressed concern over the conduct of voting, alleging delays in accreditation and ballot casting at his polling unit.
Speaking on Saturday, Oloyede said the voting process was moving too slowly, claiming that only a few voters had been able to cast their ballots after spending a long time at the polling centre.
He warned that such delays could discourage participation and affect the credibility of the exercise.
The PDP candidate also alleged that security operatives were intimidating voters in some areas.
He claimed there was a heavy security presence around certain polling locations and argued that the situation could create fear among residents seeking to vote.
Despite the concerns, Oloyede said he remained hopeful that voters would conduct themselves peacefully.
He called on journalists and election observers to monitor events closely and independently assess the situation across the state.
