NNPC Reviews China Refinery Deal
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced that its newly signed Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese companies for the rehabilitation and operation of the Port Harcourt Refinery and Warri Refinery has moved into a detailed evaluation stage.
The company said the agreement is currently undergoing careful assessment before any major steps are taken. It explained that the process is intended to ensure the partnership delivers the expected results.
According to NNPC, the goal is to transform both refineries into profitable and self-sustaining facilities capable of operating efficiently over the long term.
The company maintained that the evaluation is part of efforts to secure the best outcome for the refinery projects while improving Nigeria’s domestic refining capacity.
