Oyo APC Fires At Adeleke For Denying Allegations During IGP Visit
The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of giving misleading answers over claims that wanted criminals were being sheltered in the Government House.
The allegation surfaced during a stakeholders’ meeting with the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The governor reportedly denied the allegation and said anyone who breaks the law, including members of his own family, should be arrested and prosecuted.
The APC, however, dismissed his response, insisting that it failed to address the accusations directly.
The opposition party claimed that some wanted persons had repeatedly appeared with the governor at public and political events.
It also alleged that some of them had been given political appointments, urging the governor to explain the reported links.
The APC further criticised the conduct of members of the Peoples Democratic Party during the police meeting, accusing them of disrupting the event.
The party said security agencies should investigate the allegations and ensure that anyone found guilty faces the law.
