Oba Ojibara of Bayangan remains in the hands of bandits, dismissing earlier claims that he had been freed.

Security sources in Ilorin confirmed on Tuesday that there has been no rescue, adding that the DSS and police are “not in the picture” regarding any release efforts.

According to information gathered from the bandits’ hideouts as of December 2, 2025, a total of 13 people — including the monarch and three women — are still being held. The attackers had operated across Bayangan, Ilala, Memudu, Adanla, Agbeku, and Idera over a five-day period.

Those in captivity are reportedly appealing for negotiations, citing the Eruku incident as an example of a successful settlement. Meanwhile, the kidnappers are demanding between ₦100 million and ₦150 million for each hostage.
