Tinubu’s New Road Brings Relief To Abuja Community
President Bola Tinubu has commissioned a seven-kilometre access road linking Bill Clinton Drive to Tungan Madaki in Abuja, saying communities should not suffer because of projects carried out for national development.
The road, completed with a four-span bridge, was built to reconnect residents affected by the construction of the airport’s second runway.
The project was inaugurated on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who represented the President.
Tinubu said the host communities gave up land for the runway years ago but were left without proper road access, creating hardship for residents and limiting economic activities.
He explained that the new road would improve movement around the airport corridor, reduce traffic pressure and create opportunities for farmers, traders and students in Tungan Madaki and neighbouring communities.
The bridge is also expected to ensure smooth movement during both dry and rainy seasons.
The President praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for delivering the project within the approved timeline.
Wike said the road reflects the administration’s effort to extend development to neglected communities and revealed that plans are underway to extend the route to Zuba to increase its economic benefits.
