Tinubu Drops Edun And Others In Cabinet Reshuffling
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a minor shake-up in the Federal Executive Council, removing Wale Edun and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa from office.
The decision was announced in Abuja through a memo signed by George Akume. The changes form part of efforts to adjust the cabinet.
Following the directive, Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
He replaces Edun after previously serving as minister of state in the same ministry. In the housing ministry, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as the incoming minister.
The outgoing ministers have been instructed to complete their handover processes by April 23, 2026.
Dangiwa is to transfer duties to the minister of state pending confirmation of his successor. The reshuffle was carried out under constitutional provisions guiding presidential appointments.
The presidency said the changes are aimed at improving coordination and delivery within government.
Tinubu also thanked the affected ministers for their service and assured that adjustments within the cabinet will continue as needed.
