Tinubu Must Own Up To Failure, Stop Economic Promises – ADC
The African Democratic Congress has criticised President over his Democracy Day address, accusing his administration of failing to deliver meaningful results after three years in office.
The party said the speech reflected a leadership more focused on promises than on addressing the country’s current challenges.
The opposition party argued that the address did not properly account for worsening economic conditions and rising hardship across the country.
It said Nigerians were again asked to remain patient despite ongoing struggles with inflation, unemployment and the high cost of living.
The ADC also faulted the National Assembly for going on recess during the national celebration, describing it as a missed opportunity for accountability.
The party maintained that many of the issues raised in the speech had been recurring for years under the ruling All Progressives Congress.
It said insecurity, poverty and job shortages remain unresolved despite long-standing assurances from government. According to the ADC, Nigerians are now more concerned with results than future promises.
The opposition added that the Democracy Day message should have been used to explain clear progress in governance. Instead, it said the speech focused on future plans rather than current outcomes.
The ADC insisted that citizens deserve measurable improvements in their daily lives after years of APC leadership.
