Tinubu Plotting To Stop My Presidential Bid – Peter Obi
Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has alleged that the Federal Government is making moves to stop him from contesting the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at a leadership programme in Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, he said powerful interests were working to keep him off the ballot.
Obi said the recent Federal High Court ruling on the registration of the NDC would not stop his ambition.
He expressed confidence that his political journey would continue, insisting that the wishes of Nigerians would eventually prevail despite the challenges before him.
The former Anambra governor also challenged President Bola Tinubu and other presidential hopefuls to a public debate on their plans for Nigeria.
He said his ambition was driven by the desire to rebuild the country and urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote based on competence rather than ethnicity.
The All Progressives Congress dismissed Obi’s claims and advised him to seek legal remedies instead of criticising democratic institutions.
The party maintained that the judiciary should be respected and argued that the court acted within its powers by ordering that all parties be heard in the NDC registration case.
