According to reports, a businessman identified as Chiebonam Nweze, popularly known as Power-Autos, was stabbed to death while attending a bonfire night organized by the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies’ students’ association.

The university stated that all such events must now be held strictly during the daytime and under the supervision of the University Security Unit.

“Social events of any kind will not be permitted on our campuses beyond 6:00 p.m. henceforth,” the management said.

They further explained that the bonfire was hijacked by miscreants from a neighboring community who caused the violence, describing the incident as unfortunate.

The management reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment on campus and vowed to take every necessary measure to prevent a recurrence.
