Wike Pushes For PDP Revival Plan
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to focus on rebuilding the party from within.
He made this known during a visit to the National Working Committee at the party’s Abuja headquarters.
The move comes as the party prepares for future elections after internal challenges.
Wike said the leadership must reconnect with aggrieved members and restore confidence in the party’s structure.
He pointed to recent developments at the secretariat as a sign that the party is ready to resume full activities.
He also pledged support and loyalty to the leadership, stressing the need for unity after elections.
He admitted that the party had faced serious internal crisis but said recovery was already underway.
According to him, rebuilding the party would require hard work, sacrifice, and strong grassroots programmes.
He urged leaders to engage experienced members while rolling out strategies to regain public support.
Wike also insisted that the PDP remains the main opposition party, adding that such status must be backed by electoral victories.
He called on the leadership to bring back members who left during the crisis and address concerns driving defections.
Party leaders, including Chairman Abduraham Mohammed, assured that efforts were ongoing to rebuild trust and strengthen the party ahead of 2027.
