Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, has challenged the Inspector General of Police to withdraw officers assigned to protect President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

This came after a concern expressed by Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, who accused Seyi of moving around with what he described as a battalion.

Soyinka, in a video circulating on X, explained how he was taken aback when he saw what he referred to as a small battalion of heavily armed security personnel guarding Seyi during a visit to a hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to him, he initially assumed a film was being shot because the number of armed officers appeared unrealistic.

While commenting on the trending video during the Live Morning Show, Rufai stated that, despite President Tinubu’s directive that the IGP should withdraw officers from Very Important Persons, VIPs, Seyi would continue to move around with the policemen.

“Them nor born anybody well to remove police protection from Seyi Tinubu”, he said during the live TV programme.

In the video, Reuben Abati could be heard asking Rufai, “Even the IGP, the Inspector General of Police?” Rufai replied, “them no born am well”.
