Yilwatda Warns Aspirants Against Violent Primaries
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has warned party aspirants against sponsoring violence ahead of the 2027 primaries.
He said the party would not tolerate any form of unrest during the internal election process.
Yilwatda stated that any aspirant linked to thuggery, intimidation or disruption of party activities would face immediate suspension.
He added that the APC leadership was determined to ensure peaceful and transparent primaries across the country.
The APC chairman urged party members and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly, stressing that discipline and unity remained important as the party prepares for the next general election.
He noted that the leadership would closely monitor activities during the primaries.
He also appealed to security agencies and party stakeholders to work together to prevent violence, warning that any action capable of damaging the party’s image would attract sanctions.
