ADC Predicts Public Revolt At Polls
In African Democratic Congress on Friday reacted to comments by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the 2027 election will pit him against ordinary Nigerians.
The party, through spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi, argued that public anger over hardship will shape the contest. It said many citizens are already disillusioned with current conditions.
The statement followed Tinubu’s remarks dismissing opposition threats.
The party said the President’s confidence does not reflect the mood across the country. It claimed many Nigerians are facing rising living costs and insecurity while political talk continues.
According to the party, this gap between leadership and reality is widening. It added that daily struggles are becoming more severe for households.
It also pointed to reports of insecurity and economic pressure as signs of deeper problems.
The ADC argued that families are dealing with inflation, weak purchasing power and fear in many communities. It said these issues cannot be brushed aside by political statements.
The party maintained that citizens are more focused on survival than rhetoric.
Looking ahead, the ADC said voters will decide based on their lived experiences. It warned that dissatisfaction could translate into electoral consequences in 2027.
The party added that governance, not political exchanges, will determine public support. It insisted that the coming election will reflect the people’s judgment on current leadership.
