Adeleke Escapes Injury During Campaign Rally
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, escaped injury on Wednesday after a stage collapsed during a political rally in Ijebu-Jesa, Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.
Several top government officials were also on the platform when the structure gave way.
The rally was part of campaign activities ahead of the upcoming Osun governorship election, where supporters had gathered to show backing for the governor.
The incident occurred while speeches and performances were ongoing, drawing sudden panic among attendees.
Video footage from the event showed the governor, his deputy, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and other officials seated on the stage before it suddenly collapsed.
Security personnel quickly moved in to calm the situation and assist those on the platform.
No serious injuries were reported among officials, and the event continued after a brief disruption.
The cause of the stage failure was not immediately known, though the incident raised concerns about safety arrangements at campaign venues.
