Air Peace Explains Flight Delay Amid Passengers Criticism
Air Peace has explained the disruption on its London–Lagos flight after complaints from Funke Akindele.
The incident happened at Gatwick Airport when a scheduled aircraft suffered a bird strike, forcing delays for passengers.
The airline said the plane was grounded immediately for safety checks in line with global aviation standards.
It maintained that the decision was necessary to protect passengers, even though it caused a long delay on the route.
Akindele had earlier raised concerns online, saying travellers were left waiting for hours without clear updates, accommodation, or access to their luggage.
She also noted that elderly passengers were among those affected by the situation.
In response, Air Peace said it had started reaching out to affected passengers with updates and alternative plans.
The airline added that it remains focused on safety while working to reduce the impact of such disruptions.
