Atiku Condemns Attack On Trump
In the United States, former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sent a message to US President Donald Trump through a Washington-based lobbying firm after a reported shooting incident linked to a White House event.
The message was shared publicly by the firm on its official X account.
The lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York L.C, said it delivered Atiku’s message to Trump, where he condemned the attack and all forms of political violence.
He described such acts as a threat to democratic systems and public safety.
Atiku also stressed that disagreements in politics must never lead to violence, urging respect for institutions and the rule of law.
He extended sympathy to Trump, his family, and others affected, while praising security personnel for their swift response during the incident.
The shooting reportedly happened during a major event in Washington attended by top US officials, including Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
Security forces later took control of the situation, and the suspect was arrested after an officer was injured.
