US Warns Nigerians On Visa Overstays
In Nigeria, the United States Mission in Nigeria on Monday warned that visa overstays by travellers could affect chances for other Nigerians seeking entry into the United States.
The advisory urged strict compliance with immigration rules.
The mission explained that when travellers exceed their permitted stay or break visa conditions, it can shape how future applications from the same country are assessed.
It said such actions may lead to tighter scrutiny for genuine applicants.
Authorities noted that many Nigerians visit the US for study, business, tourism and family reasons.
They encouraged travellers to respect visa terms throughout their stay to avoid complications for themselves and others.
The mission also raised concerns about visa fraud and misuse of travel documents, urging the public to report suspicious activities.
It added that lawful travel behaviour helps protect opportunities for Nigerians who follow the rules.
