I Will Gladly Serve As Obi’s Running Mate – Kwankwaso
Former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared his readiness to serve as running mate to Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television on Monday night while discussing ongoing opposition coalition talks ahead of the polls.
Kwankwaso said leaders within the coalition agreed that the South should complete another term before power returns to the North.
He explained that the arrangement would help strengthen opposition unity and stabilise the political atmosphere as preparations for the election gather momentum.
The former NNPP presidential candidate also described Obi as one of the few politicians capable of tackling insecurity, economic hardship and poor governance.
He said Nigerians, especially young people, are now more interested in competent leadership than ethnic or regional politics because of the country’s worsening condition.
Kwankwaso further stated that both the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement had already been working together before the coalition discussions became public.
He also criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress, accusing many political office holders of being disconnected from the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians.
