Ogun APC Backs Adeola For 2027
The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has settled for Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
His aide, Damilare Oloyede, said the decision was taken to prevent internal divisions and keep the party united ahead of the polls.
Speaking in an interview, Oloyede explained that the move helped calm tensions within the party and strengthen its structure.
He said choosing a single candidate early allowed members to focus on building support instead of engaging in internal contests.
He added that the endorsement was also linked to plans to sustain the policies of Governor Dapo Abiodun. According to him, the current administration has laid a strong foundation that requires continuity through a candidate aligned with its direction.
Oloyede also played down the chances of opposition parties like the Peoples Democratic Party and the African Democratic Congress. He said they lack the unity and grassroots strength to challenge the APC in the state.
