The delicate operation was performed at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh under the guidance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Lasting 14 hours and carried out in nine phases, the surgery involved 38 medical experts, including pediatric surgeons and neurospecialists, as the twins were joined at the lower abdomen, pelvis, and spine.

Saudi Arabia’s Consul General, Khalil Ahmed Al-Admawi, highlighted that the procedure is part of the country’s humanitarian initiatives, noting that the Saudi Siamese Twins Separation Program has successfully carried out 65 separations over the past 35 years.

Governor Yusuf personally received the twins and their parents, commending the Saudi medical team for their expertise and dedication. He described the successful surgery as a miracle bringing hope to the family and the entire Kano community.

The governor announced that the Kano State Government will take full responsibility for the twins’ welfare and education. Hassana and Hussaina will benefit from a special scholarship programme covering primary, secondary, and university education.

Governor Yusuf also pledged ongoing medical and psychological support for the family, emphasizing that their journey underscores the importance of compassion, international collaboration, and investment in healthcare.
