Plateau Eases Curfew In Jos North
The Plateau State Government has reduced curfew hours in Jos North Local Government Area after a review of the security situation.
Authorities said the move followed improved calm in the area after recent unrest.
The announcement was made in Jos by Joyce Ramnap, who said the new restriction would now run from 7pm to 5am daily.
The adjustment took effect on April 15, 2026, with residents expected to follow the new timeline strictly.
The curfew was earlier imposed to control disturbances, but steady cooperation from residents and efforts by security agencies have helped stabilise the area.
Officials said the easing reflects growing confidence in the current level of peace.
Residents have been urged to remain calm, stay alert, and report any suspicious movement. The government also assured that it will continue to take steps to protect lives and maintain order across the state.
