Jonathan Lacked Experience In Office – Atiku
Atiku Abubakar has linked leadership challenges in Nigeria to lack of experience, pointing to Goodluck Jonathan as a case where limited exposure affected performance in office.
He spoke during a televised interview in Abuja, reflecting on past administrations and governance outcomes.
He referred to the transition after Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, noting that while the late leader began strongly, the administration that followed struggled to handle growing national pressures.
He described Jonathan as well-meaning but not sufficiently prepared for the demands of leadership.
Atiku also said several younger political leaders across states have faced similar difficulties, arguing that rushing into power without proper grounding often leads to poor results.
He stressed that governance requires time, learning, and exposure.
Drawing from his time under Olusegun Obasanjo, he said experience gained in leadership roles remains the best training for higher office, adding that mentorship plays a key role in shaping effective leaders.
