Tinubu, Makinde Have Failed Yoruba People – Group
The abduction of pupils, teachers and a school principal in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State has sparked strong reactions from the Yoruba socio-cultural group Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, who blamed both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde for poor security response.
The incident occurred in three schools in the area last Friday, where armed men reportedly attacked and took victims away.
The group said the event shows worsening insecurity across parts of the Southwest and raised concern over safety in communities.
The organisation called for urgent rescue operations and demanded that security agencies act quickly to free all abducted victims.
It also accused political leaders of focusing more on elections while insecurity spreads across the region.
The group warned that continued attacks could deepen fear among residents and called for stronger security measures in forests and border communities.
It also urged authorities to ensure those responsible are arrested and prosecuted without delay.
