APC Ticket Dispute Erupts in Katsina
The House of Representatives primary for Mani/Bindawa federal constituency in Katsina State has been challenged by an APC aspirant, Ahmed Saleh Junior, who claims he was wrongly denied the party’s ticket.
The dispute follows the conclusion of the party’s primaries held recently.
Saleh said he was initially backed by party stakeholders through a consensus arrangement and was even congratulated as the winner.
He added that his name was later changed after what he described as internal disagreements within the party process.
The aspirant further claimed that a fresh round of consultations was held where most stakeholders supported him, but the final ticket was still handed to another candidate.
He also alleged that he was prevented from fully participating in the exercise due to security restrictions.
In response, the governor’s media office dismissed claims linking Governor Dikko Radda to any arrest or interference.
It stated that security agencies operate independently and that the governor has no control over their actions, while urging proper clarification of the circumstances surrounding the complaint.
