Obi Vows Better Primary Medical Access If Elected
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has pledged to expand access to healthcare if elected in the 2027 presidential election.
He said his administration would focus on bringing basic medical services closer to communities across the country.
Obi said his plan is to ensure that every one of Nigeria’s 8,000 political wards has a functional primary healthcare centre. He believes this would improve access to treatment and strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
The NDC candidate said the proposed project would give more Nigerians access to essential medical care, especially in underserved communities. He presented the plan as part of his wider agenda for improving public services.
Obi maintained that healthcare would remain one of his top priorities if given the opportunity to lead the country, promising to work towards making quality medical services available at the grassroots.
