Atiku Demands El Rufai Release
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on President Bola Tinubu and Uba Sani to immediately release former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The demand comes amid rising political tension surrounding the former governor’s reported detention.
Atiku said the continued detention of El-Rufai raises concerns about fairness and the rule of law.
He urged both the Federal Government and Kaduna State authorities to avoid actions that could deepen political divisions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The former vice president also warned against using state institutions to settle political scores.
According to him, democracy can only thrive when opposition voices and political figures are treated within the boundaries of the law.
The development has already sparked reactions among supporters and political observers, with many closely watching how the Tinubu administration and Kaduna State Government respond to the growing calls for El-Rufai’s release.
