FCCPC Denies Lender Claim
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has dismissed reports claiming it approved 48 new digital loan applications, increasing the number of licensed digital lenders in Nigeria to 505. The commission described the report as false.
The FCCPC said it did not grant the approvals mentioned in the publication. It urged members of the public to disregard the information, describing it as misleading.
The commission advised Nigerians to rely only on official announcements and verified updates regarding the licensing of digital money lenders. It warned against spreading unverified information.
The FCCPC reaffirmed its commitment to regulating digital lending in line with the law and said it would continue to provide accurate information through its official communication channels.
