The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has honored Assistant Route Commander Babatunde Owoeye of the Osun State Sector Command for exceptional integrity after rejecting bribes 104 times in July 2025.
The award was presented on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Osun State Command headquarters.
According to official records, Owoeye had earlier turned down 18 bribe offers in May and 38 in June, demonstrating consistent dedication to ethical service.
Sector Commander Leye Adegboyega commended Owoeye’s conduct, calling it a clear reflection of the FRSC’s commitment to eradicating corruption and extortion within its ranks. He noted that the recognition aligns with the anti-corruption drive of Corps Marshal Sheu Mohammed and the commission’s wider push for professionalism and accountability.
“For his exceptional integrity, Assistant Route Commander Babatunde J. Owoeye has been awarded a commendation and a cash prize of ₦250,000. He recorded 104 ‘Attempt to Corrupt Marshal on Duty’ (ACS) cases in July alone — a feat unprecedented in the command’s history,” Adegboyega said.
The FRSC reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on bribery and assured that officers who uphold honesty and discipline will continue to be recognized and rewarded.
