PDP Clears Adebutu For Ogun Race
The Peoples Democratic Party has approved Oladipupo Adebutu to contest in its governorship primary ahead of the 2027 election in Ogun State.
The screening took place at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, where aspirants from different states appeared before the committee for verification and clearance.
The confirmation came through a statement released on Saturday by Adebutu’s media aide, Afolabi Orekoya.
Supporters of the former governorship candidate welcomed the outcome and described it as a fresh boost for his political ambition in Ogun politics.
Party members said Adebutu remains one of the leading figures in the PDP because of his grassroots support and long involvement in the state’s political scene.
His supporters also believe his experience and popularity could improve the party’s chances in the next governorship election.
With the screening completed, attention has now shifted to the next phase of the PDP’s preparations ahead of the 2027 polls.
Adebutu’s camp said he remains focused on plans centred on economic growth, youth empowerment, infrastructure, education and better welfare for residents of Ogun State.
