Sanwo-Olu Plans Rail Extension To Ogun
Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that discussions are ongoing to extend the Red Line rail project beyond Lagos into Ogun State as part of efforts to improve regional transportation.
The proposed expansion of the Lagos Red Line Rail is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and creating a more connected transport network between Lagos and neighbouring states.
Sanwo-Olu explained that integrating rail systems across state boundaries would ease daily commuting, especially for workers who travel between Lagos and Ogun.
The move is also expected to support economic activities by improving mobility and access.
If completed, the extension would mark a major step toward building a broader regional transit system, linking urban centres and helping to decongest roads across the Lagos corridor.
