Turaki – Led PDP Rejects Supreme Court Verdict
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has rejected the recent judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The group said the ruling could destabilise the party and weaken Nigeria’s multi-party system.
The faction argued that the split decision, which nullified the party’s Ibadan convention, has created uncertainty over leadership.
It warned that the situation may deepen internal divisions within the opposition party.
According to the group, dissenting justices had viewed the matter as an internal party issue.
It also faulted aspects of the majority ruling, claiming it raised concerns not fully argued in court.
Despite the setback, the faction said party structures would work to restore order.
It added that the PDP must quickly resolve the crisis to remain a strong force in Nigeria’s democracy.
