FG Sets Digital TV Switch Date
The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to launch a nationwide Digital Switch Over platform on 17 June.
The rollout is aimed at improving television broadcasting across the country and expanding access to digital services for viewers in both urban and rural areas.
The platform is expected to give Nigerians access to more than 100 free television channels.
It will also offer clearer picture quality and better sound compared to the current analogue system, improving overall viewing experience for households.
Officials say the new system will also help broadcasters reach wider audiences while giving advertisers better tools for tracking viewership in real time.
This is expected to improve content delivery and support growth in the media and advertising space.
The project is part of Nigeria’s shift from analogue to digital broadcasting.
Authorities believe it will create new opportunities in the creative industry while improving access to entertainment and information for millions of people across the country.
